Frequently Asked Questions

1.  Why are the fees higher for the older age groups?
a.       Tournament entry fees increase as the teams get older.  This is mainly due to their games being longer and therefore incurring a higher cost for umpires.

2.  Do you have a payment plan option for the player fees?
a.       Yes.  Player fees may be paid upfront during registration or via a payment plan option
.

3.  What happens if my child is unable to complete the entire season?  Will I get a refund of my fees?
a.       The program incurs the majority of expenses up front, therefore player registration fees are non-refundable.

4.  How many tournaments will the team play?
a.       Each team will compete in a minimum of 7 tournaments for the 2025 season.  Each coach will determine how best to use the team’s tournament budget.

5.  How far will we travel to play tournaments?
a.       Each coach is responsible for planning the team’s tournament schedule and locations.  We’re fortunate to have many tournament venues in the Central KY area, so travel should be limited.  Overnight travel should NOT be required for any events, however coaches/teams may plan their activities how they see fit.

6.  Will I be able to take a family vacation this summer?
a.       Coaches are required to publish their tournament schedule no later than 12/31/23 so that families can plan accordingly.

7.  I see many travel ball teams playing during the fall.  Are we going to do that too?
a.       Competing in fall tournaments will be a team-by-team decision.  We recognize that most of our players are multi-sport athletes and enjoy activities off the diamond.  Taking the fall season off allows players and families to participate in other sports and extra-curricular hobbies without the added stress of baseball.  It’s a great time to hire an instructor for 1:1 lessons or to just rest up in preparation for the following season.

8.  Will Rangers teams practice and play in events during the Bluegrass Little League spring season?
a. Yes.  Participation in the BLL spring season is a requirement for all Rangers players, and league activities should ALWAYS take precedent over Rangers during the season.  Rangers leadership will work closely with BLL to ensure teams have adequate and guaranteed practice time.  Several weekends will be blocked off for Rangers teams to play tournaments during the Spring.  Players should NOT miss a league team game or practice to attend a Rangers activity.

9.  Does participation on a Rangers team guarantee a roster spot on a Bluegrass Little League AllStars team?
a. No.  The Rangers program is entirely independent of the league’s AllStars program.  The primary goal of our Rangers program is to prepare our most talented players to compete in the official Little League Tournaments held each summer.  While highly likely that Rangers players will be selected to their respective age group’s AllStars team, it’s not guaranteed.

10.
We’re excited to be on a 2025 roster.  Does this mean we’re guaranteed a roster spot on next year’s team?
a.       No.  Team tryouts will occur each August for the following year’s rosters.  Many players will be selected to continue with their prior season’s team, but some may not.  As the program grows, we anticipate having multiple teams per age division.  This will allow ample opportunity for players to earn a spot on a Rangers squad each year.

11.
Are there fundraising requirements for each player/team?
a.       No, fundraising is not required.  Teams are highly encouraged to solicit sponsors and/or conduct fundraising activities on their own.  All funds raised by a team will be allocated specifically for their use.  Rangers Baseball Club, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) registered non-profit organization with the IRS.  Donations MAY be tax deductible and/or eligible for corporate matching gifts programs.

12.  Does the entry fee cover all uniform items?
a.       The 2025 Uniform Program is currently under review by the Executive Leadership Team.

13.  I have more questions.  Who can I contact?
a.       Contact Scott Ward, President, at [email protected] with any questions.
